Why are you so worried in squeezing into gays since most are not really interested in you but your body in deep? Gay lifestyle has a tendency to be superficial, and knowing how Miamians go, it makes it doubly fake. adam4adam which is the most popular is full of hook ups who place a dick or ass pic instead their face.

How is it in terms of attitudes such as: plastic, fashionist, exclusivist, intellectual, simple, friendly, prejudiced, ephemeral, long lasting, etc. I'm still trying to decide between Miami/FTL and Atlanta. I really liked it there but also really missed Florida and the latin culture/people. Also, any suggestions for gay neighborhoods in Miami itself?
Hey, we spoke a couple of times a few months ago back when you were trying to decide between MIA, Atlanta and I think Philly. I'm still in Orlando but really want to go someplace where I can see other gay people, perhaps even someplace where I would feel free to hold a boyfriend's hand out in public (not that I have a boyfriend... I'm already familiar with Wilton Manors but figured Miami would be easier to find a job. I've lived pretty much all of my adult life in Boston and NYC, so I haven't done much dating in Miami.
However, I visit several times per year and have a few gay friends down there who have been going out and dating for several years now.
I hear all of their comments about the dating scene down there, so I'll let you know some of them. The most frequent complaints are that the guys are shallow, promiscuous, and flakey/unreliable.
However, I've heard that comment about young gay guys from just about everywhere, so I don't think those characteristics would be particular to gay guys in Miami. The most frequent praises are that the guys love to have fun and that many guys are good dancers.
I've seen a lot of bad dancing all over this country, and I must say that in my experience, people (males and females) in Miami can work the dance floor better than most others! My take on all of this is that as in most other large metro areas, there are all different types of people in Miami: stoners, preps, workaholics, slackers, trashy, classy, and everything in between.
If you want to meet a certain type of guy, you'll have better luck going to a certain type of place.
For example, many young professionals looking for dating hang out with a "mixed" (straight and gay) crowd at Mary Brickell Village or in nice lounges/outdoor spots in South Beach; party boys looking to "hook up" will likely go to one of the gay dancing spots.
